Privacy Policy
This page explains the categories of data GeoCrunch uses to run lobbies, reconnect players, and monitor the health of the service.
What GeoCrunch Stores
GeoCrunch stores the data needed to run multiplayer lobbies: the display name you choose, your generated portrait settings, lobby membership, round guesses, scores, and the game state required to keep players synchronized.
The app also stores a player token and profile in your browser so you can reconnect to the same lobby experience without re-entering your name each time.
How Data Is Used
Your data is used to create and join lobbies, keep rounds in sync, score guesses, and show the current state of the match to everyone in the same lobby.
Operational analytics may be collected to protect the service, measure reliability, and understand aggregate usage. GeoCrunch is not designed to sell personal data or use player data for advertising profiles.
Third-Party Services
GeoCrunch relies on infrastructure providers such as Supabase for database and realtime services, Google Maps for Street View and mapping, and DiceBear for avatar imagery. Those providers may process technical information that is necessary to deliver their part of the experience.
When you use GeoCrunch, requests may be sent to those services as part of normal gameplay. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms and privacy commitments.
Retention & Deletion
Lobby data is retained only as long as needed for active play and short-term operational cleanup. Dormant and finished lobbies are periodically removed according to the deployment's retention settings.
Locally stored profile data remains in your browser until you clear it or remove it through your browser settings.
Your Choices
Do not enter sensitive personal information into player names, lobby names, or other shared game fields. GeoCrunch is intended for lightweight social gameplay, not for storing confidential information.
If you need help with a privacy request, contact the person or organization operating the GeoCrunch deployment you are using.
